Carbon Monoxide Dector From First Alert: Steady red light & chirping every 20 seconds or so.?
What does this mean? I have a First Alert: Carbon Monoxide Detector and the red light is steady and there is a chirping. I do not know what the alarm sounds like so I’m wondering if maybe the alarm is going off? (I have moved to fresh air) Could it be that the battery is dead?
Chirping is definitely a low battery signal. Should go away when you put new one(s) in. There is more to know on this topic, however, like the best place to put the sensor, monitored vs. non-monitored, etc. You will this blog posting helpful:

needs new batteries
The batteries must be changed every year. If you have a gas furnace, and the battery change does not solve the problem, call the gas company for an inspection. As well the CO detector should be replaced every 3 years or so(just for an updated detector).
